Court okays suit seeking sack and arrest of Amaechi, Onu

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has approved a suit from the Kingdom Human Rights Foundation to commence proceedings for an order to arrest Rotimi Amaechi, Nigeria’s transport minister, and his colleague in the Science and Technology ministry, Ogbonnaya Onu.
This is in relation to recent allegations against them by two justices of the Supreme Court, Sylvester Ngwuta and Inyang Okoro.

Thisday and Punch report that the group had prayed the court to grant an order of mandamus compelling the Department of State Service (DSS) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to arrest the two ministers and get them tried.

Amsterdam mayor, Eberhard van der Laan has opened a new brothel run by sex workers in the city's red light district to improve working conditions. According to the city officials, the four buildings brothel dubbed the 'Municipal brothel' is part of a long-standing plan by sex workers and city officials to improve working conditions for sex workers and rid the country's sex industry of organized crime, allowing sex workers to work independently without having to seed their earnings to unscrupulous pimps. The Dutch hoped that by improving the working conditions for the sex workers it would help in creating a clean sex industry, in which they could earn money without having to pay pimps. Prostitution in Netherlands has been made legal since 2000, as far as the owners of sex-selling establishments have their licenses they are free to run a brothel for sex workers in any state of the country.

Covenant Dako, a security guard with a restaurant in FESTAC Town, Lagos State, escaped death by a whisker after he was attacked by an angry mob for allegedly defiling a 10-year-old girl. The Kogi State indigene would have been lynched, but for the intervention of the policemen who responded to a distress call from the management of the restaurant. He was subsequently rescued and taken into custody. . Dako had lured the victim with N50 and had rounds of sex with her in the restaurant’s generator house on Friday, February 3.
