Lobatan! Mother, Son In Trouble Over Illegal Abortion
A woman, Mrs Veronica Ukachukwu and her son, Emeka have landed in trouble after they illegally terminated Emeka’s lover’s pregnancy to prevent her son from marrying the lady.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that both mother and son were arrested for forceful abortion and presently detained at a police station in Ejigbo, suburb of Lagos.
The incident happened at Onaoluwapo street where Emeka lived with the victim before the incident happened.
They were soon to be arraigned in court for the alleged offence.
It was gathered that Emeka, who is a factory worker, met the lady somewhere in Lagos not quite long and they became lovers and as they co-habit as live-in-lovers, she became pregnant.
They reportedly resolved to marry and contributed money and rented the apartment.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Emeka, a native of Mgbidi in Anambra State informed his mother, who lives in the village, about the development.
However, the mother was said to be upset about the news and told Emeka that such will not happen because she had already arranged a wife for him in the village.
Madam Veronica then boarded a commercial bus and came to Lagos with another woman who allegedly injected the pregnant lover of his son.
She started bleeding which then led to the abortion of the pregnancy.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that while the victim still writhing in pains as a result of the forced abortion, Emeka’s mother started throwing out her property and then sent her away.
The neighbours who knew and saw the humiliation took the lady to the station to report to the police who arrested and detained the suspects.
When our correspondent visited the station in Ejigbo, both mother and son were seen detained in the cell waiting when they will be charged to court.
However, the relations of the suspects were seen at the station negotiating for their bail.
Efforts to speak with the DPO failed as our correspondent was told by armed station guards that the DPO gave a standing order barring journalists from entering the station.
